"Elizabeth Louise Captain, 91 Elizabeth Louise Captain, 91, died Friday, May 14, 2010, at her family home in Town and Country, St. Louis, Mo., surrounded by family and friends. Elizabeth married Ralph M. Captain in 1942 when she worked with the Red Cross and he served in the armed forces. After World War II, they moved to the St. Louis area where they spent their remaining years. Elizabeth was an elementary school teacher in the Ladue District and her husband was principal of the De Mun School in Clayton, Mo. After his death in 1973, the Clayton School District officially changed the name of the school to the Ralph M. Captain Elementary School in his honor. Elizabeth was a person of varied interests. She was a pilot, an equestrian, a golfer, a gardener, a volunteer at numerous charities, and a lifelong lover of animals. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph, and her eldest child, Carolyn Elizabeth Captain Johnson. She is survived by a daughter, Catherine A. Captain, two grandchildren, Linda and David, and three great grandchildren. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday. May 22, 2010, at the Thoma/Rich, Chaney & Lemler Funeral Home in Bluffton. A Graveside service will follow visitation at Six Mile Cemetery in Bluffton. Pastor Ryan Dalrymple will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made in Elizabeth’s name to the Carolyn Captain Johnson Fund, Oratorio Chorale, P.O. Box 712, Brunswick, Maine 04011."

1Bluffton (Indiana) News-Banner, On-line edition, 4 Jun 2009. "Madge K. Hunt, 87 Madge K. Hunt, 87, of New Haven, died Wednesday, June 3, 2009, at Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne. Mrs. Hunt was born in Bluffton to Homer and Mabel Cole. Survivors include two daughters, Margaret-Ann (Ed) Herman of Angola and Sally (Ronald) Wehnert of Indianapolis, and two sons, Timothy (Barbara) Hunt of Oklahoma and Joseph (Andrea) Hunt of Bloomington. Mrs. Hunt was also preceded in death by her husband, Leon, w ho died in 1980; a son, Donald, who died in 2006; and two brothers and three sisters. Calling hours will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday at the E. Harper and Son Funeral Home in New Haven, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday. Burial will be at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, in New Haven."
