1Bluffton (Indiana) News-Banner, On-line edition, 20 Sep 2012. "Robert W. Wittwer, 82, of Bluffton, passed away at 12:20 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2012, at River Terrace Estates in Bluffton. He was born March 1, 1930, in Adams County, to Jesse Dale Wittwer and Blanche (Lanning) Wittwer. He married Virginia Farlow Nov. 4, 1958, in Coldwater, Mich.; his wife survives. Mr. Wittwer was a graduate of Berne High School. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Mr. Wittwer was the former owner of Wittwer Auto Sales in Bluffton and also worked at Case Trucking, Hoosier Condensery, Kaade Motors and Larry Hiday Motors all of Bluffton. He had been a member of the Grover Sheets American Legion Post 111 of Bluffton for more than 50 years. Mr. Wittwer was a lifetime resident of the Berne and Bluffton areas. Other surviving relatives include:a brother, Joe L. Wittwer of Berne, and a sister-in-law, Mary Smith of Poneto. He was preceded in death by his parents and a stepdaughter, Stephanie Albertson. Mausoleum entombment will be held at the convenience of the family at Covington Memorial Gardens in Fort Wayne. Military rites will be conducted at the graveside. Preferred memorials are to the Bluffton Animal Shelter, 1613 W. Cherry St., Bluffton, IN 46714. Arrangements are being handled by Walker and Glancy Funeral Home in Montpelier."

1Bluffton (Indiana) News-Banner, On-line edition, 29 Jan 2008. "C. Dale Oswalt, 87 C. Dale Oswalt, 87, of Bluffton, died at 4:42 a.m. Monday, Jan. 28, 2008, at Bluffton Regional Medical Center. Born in Poneto to Cecil and Fern (Marshall) Oswalt on Nov. 2, 1920, he married Lorene Brewer in Bluffton on Aug. 2, 1947; she survives. A 1938 graduate of Petroleum High School, Mr. Oswalt worked for Franklin Electric for 35 years. He also worked as a farmer for more than 10 years. He was a member of the Poneto United Methodist Church, Bluffton Lodge #145 F & AM, Scottish Rite Fort Wayne Valley and Mizpah Shrine, and also BPOE. #796. He and his wife lived in Fairfield Glade, Tenn., for many years but returned to Bluffton in November 2007. Other surviving relatives include one son, David (Melody) Oswalt of Edgewood, Ky.; one daughter, Denise (Bruce) Robertson of Houston; one sister, Peggy Mills of Reno, Nev.; and one grandchild. Mr. Oswalt was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Louise Oswalt, and two brothers, Robert and James Oswalt. Funeral services will be held at a later date. Preferred memorials are to the church or charity of the donor’s choice."
