11. Elijah ARNOLD

Bought his first land in Eel River Twp., Allen County, Indiana and built his first cabin there in 1836.


12. Jonathan ARNOLD

Land records indicate Jonathan purchased land in Huntington County, Indiana on 10/28/1836 and 5/15/1837. He sold land in Bethel Twp., Miami County, Ohio in 1847.


14. Anna ARNOLD

Death notice posted in the Wabash (Indiana) Weekly Courier, March 14, 1884. After Edmund passed away, Anna moved in with daughter Martha and son-in-law John Conn (1880 census).


Edmund Freeman WRIGHT

Edmund Freeman Wright is the first cousin of Bishop Milton Wright, who is the father of the famous Wright brothers.

Edmund settled in Butler Twp., Miami County, Indiana in 1841 (Combination Atlas of Miami County Indiana - 1877, pg.21) Plat of township on pg 88 shows property in sec.10.

Moses Arnold resides in Harrison township, and is engaged in farming and stock-raising. He was married in Medina county, Ohio, in the year 1844, and removed to Wells county in 1845. His wife, Mary Ann Bartlemay, was the mother of four children: John, born in July 1845, died of sickness while serving in the late war, he having taken the place of his father, who was drafted; William, October --, 1846, is a resident of Lancaster township; Jacob, April --, 1848, deceased; Melinda, December --, 1849, is a resident of Jefferson township. The second Mrs. Arnold, (Melinda Johnson), was born in Lebanon county, Pennsylvania, in the year 1830. Her children are: Adam, born April 1, 1852; Ellen, September 8, 1853, deceased; Sarah Ann, January 3, 1855; Eli and Elijah, January 12, 1857; Harry, May 1, 1859; Edward, August 22, 1861; George, September 6, 1863; Chloe E., November 13, 1865; Allen, January 30, 1868; Mary Jane, November 27, 1871; Ida May, June 15, 1874. Moses Arnold is a son of Jacob and Chloe (Maddox) Arnold. He was born in Montgomery county, Ohio, in the year 1820. His father entered the farm on which Moses resides in the Fall of 1837, it being at that time densely covered with timber, Fort Wayne the best and nearest market. Being possessed of limited means, it was with the closest economy that Mr. Arnold saved enough to buy a team. His farm is cleared, with the exception of sixty acres, and his orchard, now bearing fruit, came from the seed brought by him from Ohio. Address, Bluffton, Wells county, Indiana.


Mariah BENNET

Obituary: "Mariah Bennet was born in Ohio, October 30, 1825, and died December 18, 1914 at the age of 89 years, 1 month and 19 days. Her parents came to Indiana when she was a child. She was married April 22,1851, to Samuel B. Arnold, who preceded her in death April 7, 1874. To this union, ten children were born, two of whom passed away in childhood, and John W. Arnold died in Fresno, Cal., July 8, 1912. For the past few years she has made her home with her daughter, Mrs. M. E. Ralston of New Virginia. She was converted when a little girl and united with the Methodist Episcopal Church and lived a faithful Christian life until the end. The funeral was conducted at the Patterson Methodist Episcopal Church Monday at 1 P.M. Burial made in McGinnis Cemetery."

Listed on the 1850 Miami County, Ohio census for Bethel Twp.  Listed as Blacksmith in 1860 census of Miami County, Indiana. 1870 census of same county lists him as a farmer.


119. Amos WRIGHTS

Listed as 'deaf' in 1860 census of Miami County, Indiana. 1910 census showed Amos living with his brother Albert.


20. Mary ARNOLD

Received a large amount from the estate of her brother, Jacob.
