James S. “Jim” Anderson, 48, of Bluffton, died at 8:36 p.m. on Wednesday, March 21, 2007 at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. He was the owner of the Posy Pot Florist along with his wife Donna. He was born in Bluffton on Oct. 30, 1958, the son of James W. Anderson and Donna D. (Scott) Anderson. His father survives. He was a 1977 graduate of Norwell High School, and attended the First Church of Christ in Bluffton, where he was a member of the church’s Praise Band. He was also active with school groups, prom committees, athletic boosters, concession stand, steering committee, and Youth for Christ. He was married in Bluffton on Aug. 8, 1981 to Donna M. Stotlar, who survives. He is also survived by children Chris Anderson, Chase Anderson, Colton Anderson, Chance Anderson, and Rocio Romero, all at home in Bluffton. He is also survived by his step-mother Janice Anderson, and his sisters Pam Anderson of Bluffton, and Paula (Randy) Brown of Angola. Visitation will be on Friday from 2 to 8 p.m. at the Goodwin Memorial Chapel, and one hour before services at the church on Sunday. Services will be 10:30 a.m. on Sunday at the First Church of Christ, with Larry Sprinkle and Dennis Wood officiating. Burial will be in Elm Grove Cemetery. Preferred memorials may be made to the First Church of Christ."

L. Kay Roberts, 74, of Markle, passed away at 11:32 p.m. Thursday, March 28, 2013 at his residence. Born in Wells County on June 24, 1938, to Francis Earl and Jennie Kathryn (Maddux) Roberts, he married Karen Kay Bender on July 23, 1960, at St. Marks Lutheran Church in Uniondale. His wife survives. Mr. Roberts graduated from East Rockcreek High School in 1956 and received a bachelors degree from Manchester College in 1962 and a masters degree from St. Francis in 1972. He taught history and social studies at Norwell Middle School and physical education and was also a coach at Lancaster, retiring after 28 years. Other survivors include two sons, Kerry (Laura) Roberts of Bluffton and Kirk (Suzanne) Roberts of Ossian; a daughter, Kelli (Brian) Reifel of Westfield; two sisters, Betty (Darwin) McAfee and Joyce (Richard) Longenberger, both of Bluffton; a brother, Fred (Carol) Roberts of Churubusco; and nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Lester, Walter, and Jackie Roberts. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 6, at Goodwin-Cale & Harnish Memorial Chapel with Pastor Mike Gilbert officiating. Calling hours there are 2 to 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday for one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at the Markle Cemetery. Preferred memorials are to the Kidney Foundation or the American Heart Association."
