1Bluffton (Indiana) News-Banner, On-line edition, 6 Dec 2007. "Sandra K. ‘Sandy’ McFarren, 63 Sandra K. “Sandy” McFarren, 63, of Bluffton, died Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2007 at her residence. Born in Bluffton to Paul and Doris (Wolf) Sheets on Sept. 5, 1944, she graduated from Bluffton High School in 1962. She operated a day care center out of her home for over 20 years, and also worked as the manager at Dollar General for five years and as a teller at Markle Bank for three years. She was a member of First Baptist Church. Surviving relatives include one son, Corey W. (Angela) McFarren of Bluffton; two daughters, Christina K. McFarren and Jamie L. (Bret) Martin, both of Bluffton; one brother, Rodney Call of Indianapolis; one sister, Michelle (Scott) Sodervick of Bluffton; and three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Scott Call and a sister, Linda Sheets. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, at the Thoma/Rich, Chaney & Lemler Funeral Home in Bluffton with Pastor Bud Abrams officiating. Calling hours will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Friday and for one hour prior to services Saturday at the funeral home. Burial is at Six Mile Cemetery. Preferred memorials are to the family."


Larry Wayne MCFARREN

1Bluffton (Indiana) News-Banner, Online edition, 23 Jan 2010. "Larry Wayne McFarren, 68 Larry Wayne McFarren, 68, of Bluffton, died at 7:40 a.m. Friday, Jan. 22, 2010, at his residence. Mr. McFarren was born in Bluffton on Sept. 4, 1941 to Ralph Jamison and Harriett “Betty” (Stogdill) McFarren. He married Nancy Garringer in Portland on May 2, 1997; she survives. Mr. McFarren was a former employee of the A. T. Ferrell Co. in Bluffton, retiring, in 2008, after 25 years of service. He was an excellent woodworker and had formerly worked at the Swisher Lumber Co. He loved to ride his Harley-Davidson motorcycle, and also enjoyed fishing and flea markets. He had a special place in his heart for his two dogs, Gwen and Penny. He was a member of the First Baptist Church. Other surviving relatives include one son, Corey Wayne (Angie) McFarren of Bluffton; five daughters, Christina K. “Chris” McFarren of Bluffton, DeAnne Loyd (Dave Votaw) of Anderson, Julie Loyd of Muncie, Heidi Loyd of North Carolina and Jamie (Bret) Martin of Bluffton; two sisters, Suzanne (Nolan) Markley of Richmond and Kathleen (Rudy) Bauman of Geneva; six grandchildren, Jordan Thomas of Muncie, Joshua Schorgl of Muncie, Cassie McFarren, Taylor Martin and Carson McFarren, all of Bluffton, and Gabe Armstrong of Anderson; and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday and from 10:30 a.m. at the Thoma/Rich, Chaney and Lemler Funeral Home, 308 W. Washington St., Bluffton. Funeral services will be from 11:30 Tuesday at the funeral home with John Wilson officiating. Burial will be at McFarren Cemetery. Preferred memorials may be made to Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana or Family Hospice Palliative Care."
