"Leota Maro Dormire Kline, 106 Leota Maro Dormire Kline, 106, died at 6:36 p.m. Tuesday, July 10, 2007, at Christian Care Retirement Community. Born to William Alfred and Rosa (Maddux) Haiflich on 9 March, 1901, Mrs. Kline married twice. She married Charles E. Dormire on February 16, 1923; he preceded her in death on March 7, 1963. She then married Dewey S. Kline on August 17, 1968; he also preceded her in death on December 13, 1971. A 1920 graduate of Markle High School, Mrs. Kline attended Manchester College and taught in Haiflich School in Rockcreek. She also worked as a cook at Rockcreek Elementary School for 10 years and was a member of the Uniondale Women’s Bible Study Group, the Friendly Neighbors Home Economics Club, and St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Uniondale. Surviving relatives include one son, Lex D. Dormire of Uniondale; two step-children, D.B.Kline of Corpus Christi, TX and Joan M. Benson of Huntington; two grandchildren, nine step-grandchildren, seven great-grand-children, 17 step-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Kline was preceded in death by two brothers, Raymond and Jay Haiflich and one sister, Dessie Sparks. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church with Pastor John Sturz officiating. Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Thoma/Rich, Hewitt & Chaney Funeral Home. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery. Preferred memorials are to the Church."
